Entering the Hall in the coach or manager category, Adey is the all-time winningest coach in Section III boys basketball with 566 victories. A New York State Basketball Hall of Fame selection in 2011, Adey won 343 games and two New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D championships (2011 and 2014) at New York Mills. He won nine sectional crowns and five NYSPHSAA regional titles. The seven straight section titles from 2009-15 were most memorable to him. A five-time Observer-Dispatch All-Mohawk Valley Basketball Team Coach of the Year, Adey began his coaching career at Rome Catholic High School in 1975, where he won two sectional titles. He also coached at New Hartford. Adey retired in 2016.
